New Fields and Kick Wall at LFAF

Luther's Forest Athletic Fields (LFAF), Home to the Ballston Spa Soccer Club, hasn't seen much activity due to the recent pandemic that has affected all of us this Spring. Or has it? True, there hasn't been many games or practices over the past year or so, but that hasn't stopped the many volunteers from putting in a lot of hard work at the fields.

LFAF has built a new soccer field that is of a similar size to our current 11 v 11 field. BSSC will equip it with nets and is ready to be played on barring any field maintenance/watering. Garry Preece, Tony Ryan and Rob Szmarz have been integral in the expansion of our playing surface as the BSSC continues to grow as well as maintaining the status of the rest of the fields.

LFAF also has a new kick wall. The kick wall was funded by a grant from Global Foundries and constructed this past Spring by BSSC's own, Chris Hunter, Todd Ewen, Jason Wheaton, Justin Delgado and Andy Werner. The kick wall is great for players to practice repetative foot skills. Here is a link to a video that was recently taken demonstrating the types of drills that can be performed:

Thanks again to all of the volunteers that make up the BSSC to provide an excellent soccer experience to kids in Ballston Spa and beyond.
